The £120m was to support Welsh NHS providers to reduce long waiting times and the overall waiting list. No funding was directly provided to English providers from the Welsh Government. However, some health boards may have commissioned English NHS capacity where required. We do not hold data about whether residents in Powys were treated in England as a result of this.
Management information from Powys Teaching Health Board shows:
- Powys residents on Welsh NHS waiting lists who have been waiting more than two years have reduced from 62 in April 2025 to 29 in January 2026.
- Powys residents on Welsh NHS waiting lists who have been waiting more than 52 weeks for a first outpatient appointment have reduced from 380 in April 2025 to 83 in January 2026.
