Funding to Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to support local bus services from the Welsh Government has been allocated within the Local Government Settlement announced on 19 December 2018.
The information in relation to Blaenau Gwent for the last three financial years is as follows:-
Bus Services Support Grant:
2016/17 - £150,556
2017/18 - £150,257
2018/19 - £152,477
Concessionary Fares Reimbursement:
2016/17 - £996,604.34
2017/18 - £877,097.77
2018/19 - £946,186.44
However, as the Local Government Settlement is un-hypothecated, it is for the locally elected Councillors to determine how the settlement is apportioned.
The Welsh Government considers that local authorities are best placed to judge local needs and circumstances.
