Welsh Government supports the armed forces community in Wales through the development and funding of initiatives to enhance the lives of service personnel, veterans and their families. We also work closely with the Ministry of Defence and Office for Veterans' Affairs to safeguard the interests of the armed forces community.

The Procurement Act 2023 aims to create a more accessible and transparent public procurement process for small and medium-sized enterprises. We apply SME-friendly procurement in all contracts that we advertise and provide support to businesses via Business Wales to help them navigate the process.a

Across Wales, we’re supporting local authorities to set the right speed limits on the right local roads. In Newport East, we’re funding road safety initiatives and ensuring road safety is integrated into the regional transport plan to create safer, healthier communities.
