I have had numerous discussions with Local Authorities with regards to their budget setting processes. However, it remains the case that individual Local Authorities are responsible for setting school budgets. The Welsh Government does not normally intervene directly in the management of school budgets. Local authorities are expected to work with schools to ensure school funding arrangements are effective in supporting and raising the achievement of all learners, regardless of their needs.
